Welcome to the 2011 Pedal Palooza website! Pedal Palooza is a family bike event held in Herriman each year to promote health, fitness, fun, and cycling safety. This year Pedal Palooza will be on MAY 7, 2011. We offer a number of great events that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy.
This year we have the following activities planned:
- family bike parade and kid’s bike races,
- a raffle for bikes and scooters,
- a 1000-rider women’s only bike ride (details at GoldilocksRide.com),
- a mountain bike ride up Yellow Fork,
- a children’s bicycle safety rodeo,
- helmet safety checks (and free replacements as needed, while supplies last).
Schedule
- 8:00 am – Goldilocks Bike Ride (women only)
- 9:00 am – Yellowfork Mountain Bike Ride (beginner, intermediate and advanced courses)
- 9:00 – 9:30 am – Helmet fit and safety checks
- 10:00 am – Family bike parade
- 10:15 am – Youth bike races, helmet fit and safety checks, bike safety rodeo
Family Bike Parade
Pedal Palooza main events will kick off at 10 a.m. with a family bike parade at Butterfield Park. Cyclists of all ages are invited to decorate their rides for a chance to win one of five cash prizes.
Children’s Bike Races
Races will be held for ages 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Cash prizes and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
Bike and Scooter Giveaway
We will be raffling off bicycles and scooters. Youth receive a raffle ticket for each event they participate in (including the mountain bike ride) and can submit their ticket for a specific bike or scooter. The more fun you have, the better your chances of winning!
NOTE: ALL CHILDREN RIDING BIKES MUST WEAR A HELMET!
Location
The event will be held at Butterfield Park (6212 W. 14200 S.) in Herriman. Parking will be available at the park, but you could also ride your bikes as a family to the event.
